A representative from TikTok Vietnam stated that the platform will process movie recap videos within 48 hours after receiving a copyright infringement report.
Responding to a reporter, Mr. Nguyễn Lâm Thanh, a representative of TikTok Vietnam, confirmed that movie recap and summary videos are quite popular, especially for films that are "hot" on social media.
According to him, TikTok currently has official partnerships with most film producers in Vietnam for promoting new films. However, in addition to the official promotional content, many videos created by users, which reveal key plot details or summarize the entire movie, have also appeared.

"Movie recaps almost always happen when a film is released and gains attention. For cases found to be in copyright violation, TikTok will take action within 48 hours after receiving a report," Mr. Thanh said.
TikTok currently uses two forms of music content management: a commercial sound library for which TikTok has purchased copyrights, and sounds uploaded by users, which are their individual responsibility. Users can report suspicious content by going to the "menu" and selecting the "report" feature; the system will receive and transfer it to a review team for evaluation.
According to regulations, TikTok only acts on copyright-infringing videos when requested by the content owner. "Platforms cannot arbitrarily remove content without a complaint. This is the right of the producer and content creator," the platform's representative said.

In addition to technical tools, TikTok also uses a team of Vietnamese personnel to evaluate complex cases. "We have a group that understands Vietnamese culture and law to review when we receive feedback from the community or requests from authorities," Mr. Thanh shared.
At an event celebrating World Intellectual Property Day (April 26) on April 25 in Hanoi, Mr. Lê Hoàng Long, Director of the Intellectual Property Office, commented: "In the digital age, the unauthorized copying and exploitation of music and films on digital platforms happens very easily, which demands an effective and appropriate intellectual property system to promptly prevent it."
From a state management perspective, the office is coordinating with ministries and agencies to raise public awareness about intellectual property rights. In parallel, the office also supports businesses, schools, and research institutes in the protection and commercialization of intellectual assets.
"Intellectual property is a crucial pillar in the national innovation strategy. We will perfect policy mechanisms and promote education to protect the legitimate rights of intellectual assets," Mr. Long said.
