Leitz Reference Xi

The Reference Xi series continues the Leitz hallmark of high accuracy scanning performance.

It also offers an unparalleled flexibility of probe head choices: from the LSP-X1 coupled with the TESASTAR-m continuous wrist, to the LSP-X3c fixed measurement head, up to the LSP-X5, for use with extra-long stylus extensions or heavy styli clusters. The Leitz Reference Xi is also available with the Option XT (eXTended temperature range). With this option the CMM can be integrated in production easily.

The accuracy is there in every situation – whether measuring with indexing or fixed measurement heads. With a multi-sensor controller, the Leitz Reference Xi series is also well equipped for the integration of vision measurement sensors. The secret is in the name for the Leitz Reference Xi range – “Xi” stands for “fleXible”. With the Option XT – including a sophisticated temperature compensation – the Leitz Reference Xi measures reliably throughout the extended temperature range of 15 to 30 degrees Celsius. Indispensible for measuring in a production environment.

  • Moving portal with patented TRICISIONTM technology
  • High resolution AURODUR steel scales, with automatic temperature compensation
  • Granite table with integrated dovetail guideways
  • Guiding systems with pre-stressed air bearings
  • A broad array of Leitz 3D probe systems is available: LSP-X5, LSP-X3c, LSP-X1s/h on the TESASTAR-m indexable probe head
  • Optional: automatic styli changer
  • Option XT: extended temperature range and covered rails

LSP-X5 Probe Head
Ultra-precise, full 3D, fixed scanning head capable of simultaneously measuring in the X, Y, and Z directions to precisely define the orientation of the work piece surface.
This heavy-duty analog probe features very high and repeatable accuracy even with extra-long probe extensions and heavy styli clusters (up to 500 mm of length and 500 g of weight). It features a proprietary anti-collision system for extra protection of the head.
The LSP-X5 is the ideal tool to verify high accuracy mechanical parts and complex geometries. An automatic tool changing capability allows styli change within a measuring program without the need for probe requalification. Pneumatic clamping of styli on the head permits fast and reliable changes.

LSP-X3 Probe Head
A compact, cost-effective but extremely accurate, 3D scanning probe head which can carry up to 360 mm long probing extensions and styli clusters.
The LSP-X3 offers fast single-point probing for all standard measuring tasks as well as High-Speed-Scanning for form and profile inspection and is ideally suited for dimensional control of small to medium high-accuracy prismatic parts and complex geometries.
An automatic tool changing capability allows styli change within a measuring program without the need for probe requalification. Magnetic clamping of styli on the head permits fast and reliable changes.

LSP-X1s/h Probe Head
The LSP-X1 scanning probe head offers the accuracy characteristics of fixed heads but can also be fitted to a TESASTAR-m motorized indexable head being capable to measure both in point to point and in continuous scanning mode.
The Leitz LSP-X1 represents the next step in the miniaturization of the proven Leitz measurement head technology. It allows for flexible and accurate measurements in an extremely broad range of possible applications. All standard measurements such as dynamic single-point inspection, high-speed scanning as well as self-centering measurements for highly accurate form and contour inspection are thus possible.

CMS 106
