Fixtures play a key role in determining the accuracy, speed and repeatability of a measurement process. Swift-Fix, Hexagon’s fully modular part-holding and fixturing system for CMMs and vision systems, makes it simple to build and use metrology fixtures that facilitate fast, accurate part measurement.
Available as a kit or as individual components, Swift-Fix allows for unlimited fixture configurations, making it simple for operators to add a measurement feature or alter a fixture configuration even for large or complex parts. Swift-Fix works equally well with stationary CMMs or portable measurement arms, equipped with tactile or optical sensors.
Swift-Fix combines standard base plates and fixturing elements that slot together easily to hold parts, with each base plate labelled alpha-numerically so that operators can accurately record and reproduce a fixture’s configuration.
The intuitive design of Hexagon’s modular fixturing components increases speed and accuracy by giving sensors unencumbered access to the part during the measuring routine. And an optional kinematic system, particularly useful for automated CMMs, allows for the repeatable placing of one or multiple fixtures on a single plate.
Swift-Fix is also available in clear acrylic for use with vision and optical sensors. Called Swift-Fix Vision, it fixes magnetically to the measurement and comes with fixturing components that are specially designed to minimise contact with fragile parts and hold them in place using less force.
