Absolute Distance Measurement (ADM): The high-accuracy ADM laser provides faster data feedback than previous generations, with a data acquisition rate of 1Khz. This leads to faster measurement data and denser point clouds.
8MP iVision™ Camera: This camera is an improvement over the previous infrared camera, offering better target selection and a wide-angle, fast auto-lock feature. This function allows for quick recovery of a lost beam and makes it easy to use for hard-to-reach, obscured measurements. The camera also supports live streaming.
"AI-powered" GPU: The traditional CPU has been replaced with an AI-enhanced graphics processing unit (GPU), which processes data and images faster to provide instantaneous results.
Design and Portability
Compact and Lightweight: The iLT weighs only 4.9kg (11 lbs), a 50% reduction in weight compared to the previous Radian model. Its compact size (330mm x 152mm x 152mm) allows the device to be transported in a small backpack and carried on a plane or high-speed train.
Fully Integrated Device: The iLT features an on-board controller and integrated Wi-Fi, enabling completely wireless operation. This reduces setup time and allows for safer measurements in tighter spaces.
Battery Operation: The device can measure continuously for up to 4 hours with a hot-swappable battery, and additional external batteries can extend the measurement time. According to one source, the battery life can be up to 8 hours.
Two-Level Design: The two-level (instead of single-level) structure allows for the flexible use of various accessories.
Environmental Compensation: An integrated on-board weather station ensures accuracy in various operating conditions, from -10ºC to 45ºC.
Accessories and Software
iProbe: This is API's new accessory, a handheld tactile probe with an ergonomic grip and flexible buttons. The iProbe works exclusively with the iLT, providing a cost-effective option for measuring hidden points and deep holes without needing to move the tracker.
Accessory Compatibility: The iLT is compatible with all Radian Laser Tracker accessories, including the vProbe, iScan3D, and i360.
API MeasurePro Software: This software is designed for full automation, capable of controlling the iLT, 9D LADAR, Radian, i360, industrial robots, and other elements of an automated cell from a single location. It has a unique simulation environment, allowing for the automatic creation of inspection paths from CAD data. MeasurePro can display point cloud data in real time and perform geometric analysis, creating a digital twin of the measured part.
Third-Party Software Integration: API's iM device has been integrated with all major third-party software programs, including Metrologic, Polyworks, and Spatial Analyzer.
