Due to its importance for safety and performance, the quality control of EV battery enclosures requires strict standards. Scantech 3D scanners have proven to be an effective and accurate tool in meeting these requirements.
To address these limitations, 3D scanning technology, particularly the Simscan 3D Scantech series, has emerged as an advanced solution, offering the capability to collect precise and rapid data, thereby optimizing the entire process
The transition from ICE vehicles to EVs presents unique challenges due to the fundamental differences between the two power systems. Therefore, ensuring the high quality of battery systems is essential as manufacturers and suppliers accelerate their research, development, and engineering production for electric vehicles.
These are commonly used tools in the manufacturing industry for the mass production of welded parts. They are also used in repair and maintenance applications, thereby increasing the accuracy of workpiece details.
Welding fixtures are devices or tools used to hold, position, and secure workpieces during the welding process. They are designed to ensure that the workpieces are held firmly in the correct position and orientation, helping to perform welding accurately and consistently.
Welding fixtures and tools can be simple or complex depending on the complexity of the product. They can be made from various materials such as steel, aluminum, and plastic. Their design can be to hold a single workpiece or multiple workpieces simultaneously.

Welding fixtures are designed to position and support components, preventing stress and deformation due to the welding process. Each welding step may require a separate welding fixture.
Arc Welding Fixtures: The temperature generated in arc welding is much higher than in gas welding. That's why this type of welding is used for welding steel structures and vehicles. The amount of heat generated at the weld line in arc welding is also greater than in gas welding. Therefore, the fixture in this case should have good supporting ability, precise alignment for the workpiece, and also allow heat dissipation from the weld area.
Gas Welding Fixtures: This type of welding uses the combustion of fuel in an oxygen environment to create extremely high temperatures, melting the parts and joining them together during welding. In gas welding, heat loss should be minimized to avoid weld cracks. Gas welding fixtures should be designed so that large fixture masses are placed away from the weld line while ensuring sufficient support for the workpieces.
Resistance Welding Fixtures: In resistance welding, fixtures must be clean, free of burrs (excess metal or plastic) and metal debris to ensure safe operation. There are many reasons why fixtures heat up, such as inductance, insulation, welding burrs, and location. The use of magnetic tools also causes similar issues. The tool itself will absorb energy and heat up during welding, forcing the welder to work harder for spot welding. To avoid this, fixtures, base plates, and other components are usually made from non-magnetic materials.
Increase efficiency and productivity: Fixtures help reduce the time for placing, removing, and securing workpieces, thereby significantly reducing non-productive time.
Improve product quality: Ensure precise alignment and secure fixing of components.
FIXTURES/JIGS will wear out over time, affecting the performance and final quality of the product.
